3rd National Judo Championship for the Blind and Deaf

Goa blind and Para Judo Association under the auspices of India blind and Para Judo Association and Sports authority of goa has organised 3rd National Judo championship for blind and deaf from 19 March to 22 March at Mapusa, GOA.

The event was inaugurated by the Dy. Chief Minister Goa, Mr. Francis D’Souza.

The players from 17 states participated in the event and training deaf and blind judokas in the sport is never easy but the coaches enjoy in training them. “For the person with visual impairment, it’s all about training by touch, while the hearing impairment can see and pick up techniques quickly. The dedication and the commitment from each coach has trained these students to perform and in winning medals.

Respected Shri Thaawar Chand Gehlot, Union Minister of Social Justice and empowerment appreciated the efforts taken, thanked CBM and The Hans Foundation for sponsoring the event .

Tamilnadu Blind and Deaf Judo team, consist of 43 players 21-girls, 22-boys, blind and deaf boys and girls Participated in the 3rd blind and deaf National judo championship, held at Pedan Sports complex, Mapusa, Goa. From 19th to 22nd March 2015.

There are 328 Players (Blind and Deaf)from 17 States all over India take part in this Championship.

This is the first time Judo History in Tamilnadu this Blind boys and Girls achieve this wonderful record.
