ALDI, Association for Learning Disabilities India, a non-govermental organisation to help the student community with their learning problems and their parents, teachers, professionals involved and social workers. It started in 1992 with its headquarters at Nellankara, Trissur. Aldi created a system called ARMS (Aldi Remedial and Rehabilitation Measures) to help children cope up with several learning problems that affect life. Aldi has conducted several scientific studies in the area.

Healing Foundation

The healing foundation is formed as a trust with a motive. The main philosophy behind the trust is ‘Healing’. Healing comes from love and the foundation is formed with the purpose of healing oneself with love. Heal thyself and heal others is the motto behind this movement. A fully residential life school, a pre-school, pre-school training centre, holistic medical care unit, senior citizen’s village, international convention centre are in the pipeline. The foundation is presently running two life schools at Kottayam and Thrissur.

Attain Life School

A project of Mt. Carmel College of Teacher Education, Kottayam and ALDI, this is an exclusively inclusive school.

  • Tests of General Intelligence
  • Reading skills, writing, spelling, maths, language and comprehension
  • Basic skills, attention
  • Identification of learning styles, multiple intelligence.

Publications

ALDI has been helping state machinery to prepare training manuals for resource teachers and master trainers. A number of tests, survey materials and a few books were published.
