Employees with disabilities with monthly wages of up to Rs.25000/- per month working in the private sector would be covered under this scheme. Government shall pay the employer’s contribution to the Employees Provident Fund and Employees State Insurance for the first three years. The scheme has already come into force.
The Government of India, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment had established NSKFDC on 24th January, 1997 to provide Term Loan to Safai Karmacharis including scavangers and heir dependants, at concessional rate of interest for their socio- economic upliftment through alternative occcupation or own business.
The loan lending schemes are : Ter m Loan, Br idge Loan, Adivasi Mahila Sashaktikarana Yojana, Working Capital Loan, Grant for skill and entrepreneural development programme etc.
Development Corporation should be extended and utilised by PWDs belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Minority/Women categories. Section-40 of PWD Act, 1995 has made mandatory that not less than 3% reservation shall be kept for PWDs in poverty alleviation programs.
The nationalized banks provide loan to poor people, including persons with disabilities and the institutions working for PWDs, orphanage, women etc., who desire to engage themselves in productive activities or gainful business, at the very nominal rate of interest. There is provision that all nationalized banks should try their level best to provide at least 1% DRI loan of total credit amount.
S.G.S.Y. is a credit-cum-subsidy program in which credit is critical component and subsidy is a minor segment aiming to bring people above the poverty line. Group activities and vulnerable groups (PWDs, SC/ST & Women) are the focus area of SGSY. Beneficiaries are called SWAROZGARIES. Identified key activities of block are being supported and quantum of loan depends on nature of project.
To channelise educated unemployed youth into self- employment activities, SEEUY (1983) was launched which was redesignated as PMRY (1993). Individuals and groups within the individual admissibility, may apply for loan.
The scheme IEDC was meant to cover all classes in the school education stage. With the coverage of children with special needs in the elementary stage under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), the scheme of IEDC was replaced by IEDSS under which children with disability in the secondary stage (classes IX to XII) are covered.
SJSRY was launched to provide income generation option such as setting up gainful self-employment venture, training & upgradation of entrepreneurial skill to urban unemployed people, living under poverty line. This scheme consists of two special schemes
