Established in the year 2006 VOTC is started with the vision of providing quality health care delivery of occupational therapy to the general public and to Vijaya occupational therapy centre - Chennaipromote awareness about occupational therapy among medical community, student community and general public.

From the beginning, centre rendered its services to the children’s with various developmental disorders such as Autism, ADHD, PDD,CP & MR and Adults with various neurological, orthopaedic and psychiatric dysfunctions.

A branch of our centre has been functioned in Choolaimedu [within the premises of Purushoth therapy centre] from September 2008 to june 2010. A new branch is planned to open shortly in Adyar.

Services

SENSORY INTEGRATION : Ability to organize sensory information to make an adaptive response.

Fine motor skills intervention: Ability to handle small pieces of objects and to manipulate it. Activities such as cutting, writing, folding, stringing etc.,

Social skills training: Ability to interact, comprehend, engage in play, express desires and needs and to initiate and sustain conversation.

Play therapy: Play is the essential medium to promote socialization, skill development and to experiment with roles.

Adl training: Activities of daily living comprises our day to day activities such as brushing, bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting and so on.

Cognitive perceptual skills training: Cognitive skill is the ability to use higher brain function. Perceptual skill implies organizing sensory input into meaningful patterns.
