The Shakti Foundation is organising a funfair ‘Corporate Commitment’ on August 20, at St. George’s School ground, Poonamallee High Road, in the city.
The fun fair is a platform for employees of corporate houses to spend time with persons with disabilities and to see the challenges they face on a daily basis.
Around 40 corporate houses will participate in the event to express their solidarity for the cause. “The entire event this year will be run by children with disabilities,” said Vasanth Raghuvir, Chairperson of the Shakti Foundation. The focus of the event is to integrate students with disabilities into the mainstream.
To reiterate this, the students will join popular percussion artists Sivamani and Selvaganesh at a performance being organised as part of the event.
A drawing competition for children will also be conducted. Children from 14 special schools and seven regular schools will participate in the event. Airtel is the principal sponsor for the event.
