Bookshare (www.bookshare.in) is the world’s largest accessible online digital library for people with print disabilities. There are over one lakh and sixty thousand titles available in Bookshare India for download in multiple formats, including DAISY, BRF, and MP3 formats. These can be read on computers, assistive technology devices, tablets, mobile phones, and MP3 players.

 

Who can join?

Bookshare members must qualify with a print disability like blindness, low vision, physical disability or severe learning disability that makes it difficult or impossible to read printed books. Also, Organizations who work for education and empowerment of persons with print disabilities.

How do I join?

Now Bookshare FREE membership is offered for the first ONE YEAR for Individuals and Organizations. Go to https://www.bookshare.org/signUpMember and register online.

A. Send the Proof of Disability POD form generated after registration along with a copy of your Disability Certificate to:

BookShare have books from Seasons Publishing, Orient Black swan, Sahitya Akademy, Oxford University Press, Penguin, Westland Publications, New Horizon Media, Kizhakku Pathippagam, Encyclopedia Britannica, and authors such as Charles Dickens, Shakespeare, Ashokamitran, Sujatha, Kalki, Upkar Books, for competitive exams and many more. The library includes a growing collection of books in ENGLISH, HINDI and TAMIL. Plans are afoot for adding books that are required and useful for the members, both academic and non-academic.
