பார்வையற்றவர்களுக்கு முதலமைச்சர் பரிசு, 2010 – 2011ஆம் கல்வியாண்டில் தமிழை மொழிப் பாடமாகக் கொண்டு 10, 12ஆம் வகுப்பு பொதுத் தேர்வுகளில் மாநில அளவில் முதல் மூன்று நிலைகளில் மதிப்பெண் பெற்ற பார்வையற்ற மாணவ, மாணவியருக்கு முதலமைச்சர் ஜெயலலிதா ரொக்கப் பரிசுகளை வழங்கி வாழ்த்தினார். 10ஆம் வகுப்பு பொதுத் தேர்வில் மாநில அளவில் முதல் இடம் பெற்ற ஜெ. விக்னேஷ்-க்கு 12,000 ரூபாய் ரொக்கப் பரிசும், இரண்டாம் இடம் பெற்ற மாணவர் ஜி. பிலிக்ஸ்-க்கு 9,000 ரூபாய் ரொக்கப் பரிசும், மூன்றாம் இடங்களை பெற்ற மாணவர்கள் பி. ராஜசேகர், எஸ். நந்தீஷ், பி. சசிகுமார் ஆகியோருக்கு தலா 6,000 ரூபாய் ரொக்கப் பரிசும் வழங்கப்பட்டது.

During the past decade, the Systems Development Laboratory in the department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Madras has been involved with a software project of national relevance. The project relates to the development of software for using computers in Indian languages. The basic aim of the project is to develop tools for teaching the use of computers to those who do not speak English.
