Equal insurance benefits for differently-abled

Under the Scheme for Public Sector Banks for Orphanages, Women’s Homes and Physically Handicapped Persons, the benefits of the differential rate of interest are available to physically handicapped persons as well as institutions working for the welfare of the handicapped.
Promote economic developmental activities for the benefit of persons with disabilities. Annual Income below Rs.60,000/- for urban areas and Rs.60,000/- for urban areas and Rs.55,000/-p.a. for rural areas. For Agricultural Activities : Loan upto Rs.5.00 Lakhs
A number of schemes are being formulated under the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities Protection of Rights and full participation) Act, 1995 also. Schemes under implementation at present
Reservation for SC/ST candidates and Persons with Disabilities may apply as per Government Rules. The SC/ST candidates shall mention their caste and enclose copy of valid caste certificate. Disabled candidates should enclose a copy of disability certificate issued by a Government hospital, duly attested by a Gazetted officer.

Employees with disabilities with monthly wages of up to Rs.25000/- per month working in the private sector would be covered under this scheme. Government shall pay the employer’s contribution to the Employees Provident Fund and Employees State Insurance for the first three years. The scheme has already come into force.
The Government of India, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment had established NSKFDC on 24th January, 1997 to provide Term Loan to Safai Karmacharis including scavangers and heir dependants, at concessional rate of interest for their socio- economic upliftment through alternative occcupation or own business.
The loan lending schemes are : Ter m Loan, Br idge Loan, Adivasi Mahila Sashaktikarana Yojana, Working Capital Loan, Grant for skill and entrepreneural development programme etc.
Development Corporation should be extended and utilised by PWDs belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Minority/Women categories. Section-40 of PWD Act, 1995 has made mandatory that not less than 3% reservation shall be kept for PWDs in poverty alleviation programs.
