CBID programme has been developed with an objective to create a pool of Persons with Disabilities Mitra at community level who can work alongside ASHA and Anganwadi workers to deal with Cross Disability issues and facilitate mainstreaming of PWDs in the society.
The programme has been designed to provide competency based knowledge and skills among these Persons with Disability Mitra to enhance their ability for rehabilitation of persons with disabilities

Salient Features
- Admission will be given on merit basis (Marks obtained at class Xth). Candidates possessing higher qualification will be given preference.
- On successful completion of training followed by examination, the CBID workers will be termed as ‘Friends of Persons with disabilities’.
- Certification by National Board of Examination in Rehabilitation (NBER), Delhi.
- Local candidates having working experience in the community work and persons with disabilities with lived experience are encouraged.
- Parents/ Siblings of persons with disabilities, Women candidates are encouraged to apply.
- At present this training programme will be conducted in Hindi and
- English Languages only.
Selected candidates (PwD Candidates Rs. 700/- per month & General Candidates Rs. 500/- per month) will be eligible for stipend, subject to fulfillment of stipulated guidelines, Candidates can opt any three institutes of their choice in order of preference.
