CII Chennai Zone is organising a “ Conference on People Mobility within Chennai ” on Friday, 6th February 2015 at Hotel Rain Tree ,Anna Salai, Chennai.This conference will focus on the operating challenges of mobility of people in the intra city movement, needs in Chennai and explore scope of improving coordination among all modes of transport service providers, users and other stakeholders.
This conference will focus on:
- Patronage of EMUs and MRTS by passenger for intra city movement needs.
- Plans of Chennai Metro to support intra city people movement.
- Scope for improvement in road movement using state bus services and newly introduced mini buses and share auto services.
- Charter bus operations, challenges and facilitation required to enhance service – Focus on IT & ITES companies, Engineering colleges and school bus operations
Each session would cover an assessment of current infrastructure, key operator’s perspective, user perspective and that of policy analysts as well. Sessions would look at both independent mode level operation issues and scope for improve and also link up with connectivity and inter mode facility utilization factors. Discussions would be focused on 5Ss namely: Speed, Safety, Stress-free, Sustainability and Security.
Dr T Prabhakara Rao, IAS., Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu has kindly consented to be the chief guest of the conference.
