Delhi state to provide care giver services to persons with severe and profound disabilities. Draw a policy.
Suggestions :
1.add provision for siblings (staying in India or abroad) to take legal Guardianship. As there are families who do not have any sibling/s living in India and wish to shift person with disability aboard after parents death.
2. Towards health insurance, persons with disabilities have a right to freedom to choose policy from existing service providers so that they get options to avail coverage amount rather than depending on single ‘swavlambna’ or Niramaya health insurance policy.
C. Recognise every unemployed resident of Delhi with disabilities to be recognized as BPL person and entitled for BPL card. Resulting in a ease to live their life with respect and dignity. Less dependent on others. This will help them avail food, health and shelter, necessities of life. Constitution provides for it.
D. Delhi govt. Should adopt at least one institution to each providing Early intervention, Education, shelter vocational training, employment and Old age services to persons with disabilities. Partner to run state of the art model facilities.
