Global Inclusive Education Network (GIEN) - enabled.in

Global Inclusive Education Network (GIEN) launched on 15th April 2019 at UN Conference Room, 55, Lodi Road, New Delhi.

This is the first time when schools from India came together to share, learn and improve the quality education goals as set out in the Sustainable Development Goal-4 promotes Quality Education; the Rights to Education Act; The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).

The purpose is to promote Inclusive education based on researches, evidence based practices, innovations and use of ICT and Assistive Technologies being generated by practitioners working in inclusive settings.

GIEN aim to reach all professionals from different parts of country and bring all to a common platform and share the work with each other and learn from each other.

Considering the interest shown by professionals from India, Bangladesh, UK, UAE, Africa and few Asian countries, a three level advisory council under GLOBAL INCLUSIVE EDUCATION NETWORK (GIEN) has been formed.

  3. School Inclusive Education Development Team

Role of GIEN is to:

  • refine inclusive education practices
  • to provide suggestions to the committees on preparing courses for teachers, teacher educators, parents, non-teaching staff, community members and managers
  • conduct researches on implementation of inclusive education, including effectiveness research
  • provide feedback on the resource material used in inclusive education practices and teacher development
  • form groups of educational institutions including schools to carry out collaboration work to enhance the quality of Inclusive education
  • suggest resource material, developmental needs to School Inclusive Education Development team (SIED team)
  • help in developing tool kits for evaluating Inclusive education practices
  • facilitate formation of Regional Committees
