History of the Institute:
Infant Jesus Society for Education and Training for Hearing Impaired was started with seven students in the year 1997. The society is run by the Social Service Wing of Carmelite Sisters.
Disability Specialization:
The Infant Jesus School caters educational services for the speech and hearing impaired.
Nature of Service:
- The Infant Jesus School caters school education services to the hearing impaired children. The various services provided by the school are:
- Early Intervention
- Special Education
- Speech Therapy
- Auditory Training
- Music, Dance, Yoga
Number of Beneficiaries:
The school has a total strength of 54 students studying upto X standard. Most of the students in the hostel are from poor background and they are been provided with free education.
Geographical Coverage of the Institute:
The school is located at Thekkupalayam near Periyanaickenpalayam and covers the needs of the Periyanaickenpalayam block.
Achievements of the Institute in the last two years:
The school has been crowned by the Best Achiever Award and Gold Medal in the year 2007 by the South Indian Arts and Cultural Academy and Himalayan Vision.
