ICDD 2014 under the auspices of Centre for the Study of Developmental Disability, Special Assistance Programme (DRS I), Department of Psychology, University of Calcutta, India is a concerted platform to bring together a country wide audience of professionals, young researchers, students and eminent academicians from the fields of psychology and related fields of social sciences in an intensive discussion on issues and aspects of developmental disability. The conference is aimed at providing a platform to participants, to share, learn, interact and exchange upon multidimensional aspects of disability studies, from the diagnostic frame, socio-legal cultural, familial resources, financial concerns, to management rehabilitation and awareness issues.
The focal themes to be addressed includes diagnosis of developmental disability according to DSM nomenclature, case insights on adaptive functional areas, major therapeutic techniques including Applied Behaviour Analysis(ABA), Music and Drama therapy, legal issues, professional education and rehabilitation in light of current research scenario, from national and international perspectives.
ICDD carries the vision to equip budding professionals with insights of scientific methodology both in disability management and research and to encourage collaborative endeavors in meeting the challenges of this label still known as ‘Disability’.
