JEEVIKA – Project for Integrating differently abled youth in mainstream job market

PROJECT FOR DIFFERENTLY ABLED YOUTHJEEVIKA, a unique project that provides inclusive livelihood opportunities for youth with disabilities in the Delhi-National Capital Region. For this initiative, UWI has partnered with Action for Ability Development and Inclusion (AADI), with very measurable outcomes.

Objectives of the project are:

Capacity building of youth with disabilities for employability
Create and support multiple livelihood options for youth with disabilities

For this following project components are being implemented:

Project Component I: Design the policy for potential companies and institutions for promotion of Diversity and Inclusion Policy
Project Component II: The Employability Program for the Disabled

Outtcomes of the project are:

  • 200 persons with disabilities trained through workshops on skills for work environment
  • 30 mentors identified at 50 internship sites that provide equal opportunities for work
  • 10 companies have come on board for providing internships/ employment opportunities
