This competition is Conducted each year in memory of Late Sh. Madanlal Khandelwal, an ardent supporter of the blind. Late Shri Khandelwal based in London, was a social worker and sponsored various reputed promotion Braille Programmes During His life time through esta Organization.
About Braille Essay Competition :
- There will be two groups of competitors-one Junior group up to the age of 25 years and the second group above the Senior age of 25 years.
- Group-wise topics for the essay competition are:
Junior group (Eng.): “Continued Relevance of Braille in the World.”
Junior group (Hindi): Vishwa Mai Kee Satat Prasangikta Braille.
Senior group (Eng.): “How Can We Be Effective Advocates for Empowerment Our Own”?
Senior group (Hindi): Ke Liye Hum Apne Sashaktikaran Prabhavi Dhang is Kis Tarah Hai Satark Rah sakte. - Essays can be written in Hindi / Inglés or any other Indian language approved by the Confederation for the purpose.
- Essays Should be written by Braille typewriter or Braille slate. Computerized Braille Shall not be accepted.
- Maximum length of the essay for junior group Should be Between 600-800 words and for senior group Between 800-1000 words inclusive of applicant’s name, age, address and phone number of the essay topic. The essays not written as per the prescribed word limits Shall not be included in the competition.
- The Competition Carries certificates and three cash prizes of Rs. 8000, 5,000 and 3,000 for junior group and Rs. 10,000, 7,000 and 4,000 for senior group.
- The essays must be the original completely in nature.
The essays Shall Be Examined by reputed Personalities and Their decision Shall end and be binding for all. - For Determining the best three entries in each group in each language, the following be kept in mind Shall:
- content
- Language and style
- Braille proficiency and neatness
- Last date for receipt of essays in Braille in AICB office Shall Be 30th September, 2016.
