Manasa – School for the special children

Manasa means Deep Hearted Love and springs. Manasa school for the special children is a non-profitable organization created to look after the mentally challenged, spastic cerebral palasy, multiple disabilities and the other disadvantaged child in the age group of 2 to 40 years. Manasa was established in June 1998 at Madhuravoyal, Chennai, Tamilnadu with the strength of just two children. It has today grown to a family of 112 children. Care and love can truly make a world of difference in the lives of the disadvantaged amongst us. Manasa has been extremely fortunate to get well-qualified and experienced professionals to care for the children. Mrs. Lalitha Muralidharan who is a secretary is a highly qualified with rich field experience of over 25 years.

Vision

1. To identify the disability as early as possible to train them.
2. To provide the necessary corrective, rehabilitative training and Aids appliance.
3. The quality of life of every person with mental retardation is equal to other citizens in the society.
4. To train the special child and lead near normal life.
5. To make aware in the society about disability and how to avoid special children birth.

A lot more requires to be done for these children. For no fault of its own a child is born mentally challenged is entitled to special opportunities and dedicated specialized care. A special child requires much more love and affection even more than a normal child. Quite often the special child does not know how to express their feelings. Such a special children need a sustained commitment of practical support based on sound understanding corporate houses industrialists business persons and philanthropists can help us put our plan into effective action. We appeal to you to help the Manasa with funds and with material. Your altruistic contribution will go a long way in helping a deprived special child lead a near normal life and find his or her own places in society.
