UDIS FORUM and CBM India have announced Marga Schulze Scholarship Scheme for helping visually impaired girls to pursue higher education.
UDIS FORUM is the nodal agency for distributing this scholarship to students in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra. The rest of the country can get the scholarship through Delhi-based All India Confederation of The Blind.
This year, the scholarship will be distributed to 140 girls for the 10th year in succession. Those in Only students stepping into the first year can apply for the scholarship.
For undergraduate courses, the applicants should have secured 60 per cent or more in the plus two or junior college.
For B.Ed. and postgraduate courses, the student should have scored 55 per cent or more in their qualifying examination. A sum of Rs. 12,000 a year will be given to eligible students for the under graduation and for the bachelor of education programmes.
For postgraduate students, it is Rs. 18,000 per year. In the first phase, 60 per cent of the amount will be sanctioned through the college in September and the rest in the second semester.
Students will be eligible to get renewal scholarship for the same amount in the consecutive years if they score at least 55 per cent in all the major papers this academic year.
Application forms can be downloaded from the websites www.davo.in or www.aicb.org.in.
Filled in applications with the recommendation of the principal of the respective institutions should be sent to UDIS Forum Administrative Office, A-9, Cheran Nagar, G.N. Mills Post, Coimbatore – 641 029 on or before August 30, 2016.
Necessary Enclosures with the application form for Marga Schulze Merit Scholarship:
- Submit the Date of Birth Certificate
- Submit the attested copies of Certificate/Degree and mark sheets of the last final examination
- The student must submit the Blindness Certificate which must be issued by a Government Hospital
- Passport size photograph of a candidates should also be attached.
