Invitation of applications for National Overseas Scholarship for Students with Disabilities. 2015-16
Government of India, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, invites applications for National Overseas Scholarship for Students with Disabilities for the year 2015-16 to provide financial assistance to pursue Master’s Degree and Ph.D. courses abroad in the fields of Engineering, Management & Pure Sciences, Applied Sciences, Agricultural Science, Medicine, Commerce, Accounting & Finance, Humanities, Social Sciences, Fine Arts.
Number of scholarships to be awarded every year is twenty (20) out of which six (6)scholarships are reserved for women candidates. In addition, there is provision of two passage grant (cost of air fare only, no scholarship).
Students with Disabilities candidates below 35 years of age securing 55% marks and above in Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree within parental annual income of Rs.6.00 lakh per annum are eligible to apply. Under the scheme there is a provision of annual maintenance allowance of 9,900/- Pound(Great Britain) for courses in the United Kingdom and US$15,400/- for courses in other countries. In addition there are provisions of tuition fees, cost of air passage etc. Detailed eligibility criteria, other terms & conditions and application form are available in the website www.disabilityaffairs.gov.in.
Interested and eligible candidates may submit their applications in the prescribed pro-forma to the undersigned by 3rd October, 2015.
