Objectives :
Priority Sector Lending – Persons with Disabilities (PwD) – Inclusion under Weaker Sections
Paragraph IV of Master Circular RPCD.CO.Plan.BC 10/04.09.01/2014-15 dated July 1, 2014 on Priority Sector Lending-Targets and Classification.
- It has been decided that priority sector loans to Persons with Disabilities will be eligible for classification under Weaker Sections category.
- These guidelines are effective from the date of this circular.
Weaker Sections Benefits
Advances to Weaker Sections
- Domestic commercial banks / Foreign banks with 20 and above branches – 10 percent of ANBC or credit equivalent amount of Off-Balance Sheet Exposure, whichever is higher.
- Foreign banks with less than 20 branches – No specific target in the total priority sector target.
Housing Loan
The loans sanctioned by banks for housing projects exclusively for the purpose of construction of houses only to economically weaker sections and low income groups, the total cost of which do not exceed 10 lakh per dwelling unit. For the purpose of identifying the economically weaker sections and low income groups, the family income limit of 1,20,000 per annum, irrespective of the location, is prescribed. (para III – 4)
