Speech-language therapy is the treatment for children with speech and/or language disorders and develops their speech and language process. A speech disorder refers to a problem with the actual production of sounds, whereas a language disorder refers to a difficulty understanding or putting words together to communicate ideas. Integrating all aspects of speech and language development such as receptive and expressive language, articulation, respiration and fluency, we have designed a various structured   educational programmes to help the children overcome the difficulties involved with a specific disorder.

We implement a variety of strategies including:

  • Language intervention activities: We interact with the children by playing and talking using pictures, books, objects or ongoing events to stimulate language development.
  • Articulation therapy: We correct sounds and syllables of the children using sound production exercises. These exercises are oriented with playful activities and the level of play may vary according to the age of the children and their specific needs. activities and the level of play may vary according to the age of the children and their specific needs.
  • Oral motor/feeding therapy: We use a variety of oral exercises, including facial massage and various tongue, lip, and jaw exercises, to strengthen the muscles of the mouth and also work with different food textures and temperatures to order increase a child’s oral awareness during eating and swallowing.

Audiology

  • Diagnostic Audiology: Determining the range, nature and degree of hearing loss.
  • Pediatric Audiology: Identifying children with hearing loss.
  • Dispensing Audiology: Hearing aid trial and fitting, service, ear mould, batteries and accessories.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy addresses the issue of developing the skills of the child to achieve independence in activities of daily life. It deals more with fine motor skills, visual-perceptual skills, cognitive skills, and sensory-processing deficits. Occupational therapy helps the child to overcome the problems when several areas of performance of the child is affected such as movement and dexterity of the small muscles in the hands and fingers and large muscles in the arms and legs. It also develops the child to respond to the movement based on the perception of visual information and sensory integration.

Play Based Therapy

Play based therapy is oriented towards structured play and peer group interaction etc. to enable the child to develop the required skills to develop the necessary physical movements and also improve the creativity.

Behavioral Therapy

Behavioral Therapy helps to modify the child’s behaviour to minimize aggressive and destructive behaviour and enhance socially acceptable ones.  By discouraging undesirable and aggressive behaviours are encouraging the good one we inculcate the sense of doing good things in the mind of the child.

Physiotherapy

To overcome physical disabilities.

Parent counseling and training

Assisting parents in understanding the special needs of their child and provides parents with information about child development.

Parental Care

We recommend parents to provide these therapies for their child as early as possible (younger than 3 years) as it has been scientifically proved that children provided early treatment tend to have better outcome than those who begin therapy later.  We also underline The importance of parental care during such treatments forms an integral part of their child’s therapy program as we have also found out that the children who complete the program quickest and with the most lasting results are those whose parents have been involved.

It is very important that these children should be provided adequate stimulation/training at home to help them in acquiring appropriate degree of development.  Since the process of overcoming these sort of disorders may take some time and effort, it is important that the parents as well as the family members to be patient and understand the problems of the child.
