SAI Sports Assessment Camp for Disabled Sports Person

Sports Authority of India, Netaji Subhash Western Center, Gandhinagar was doing lot of activities specially for Disable Sports person from last 02 Years including Coaching Camps, Trials & Tournaments, resulting that in the month of July ‘2015, this centre was declared a “NODAL CENTRE” for Para by Shri Sarbanand Sonowal, then Hon’ble Minister of Sports & Youth Affairs, Govt. of India in the Auspicious presence of Shri L.K. Advaniji, Ex. Dy. Prime Minister & M.P. from Gandhinagar.

Sports-Authority-of-India-SAI-logoFurther Director General of Sports Authority of India has sanctioned Centre of excellence ( Para ) Scheme at this Centre in Five Discipline i.e. Athletics, Badminton, Power Lifting, Swimming & Table Tennis with a strength of 65 ( Boys 40 & Girls 25 ) in Athletics- 10(B) & 5(G), Badminton – 6(B)& 5(G), Power lifting – 6(B)& 5(G), Swimming – 12(B)& 6(G),& Table Tennis – 06(8)& 5(G) during the session 20t6-2017.

Application are invited on prescribed Admission form in All  the 5 discipline for assessment Camp to be held at Gandhinagar from 27th June ‘2O16 for a period of three weeks, on our official email : sainswcpara@gmail.com.

The reporting date for the Assessment Camp is 26th June 2016. No Travelling Expenses will be paid for attending the Sports Assessment Camp . Only Lodging & Boarding will be provided by SAI to the selected candidate. The successful candidates will join the Centre of excellence (Para) Scheme immediately after the completion of the Assessment Camp.

Eligibility Criteria :

  1. Rank I,II & III Or Medal (Gold, Silver & Bronze) during last three years( 2Ol3- 14,2014-15 and 2015-16), National Championship held by concerned National Sports Federation.
  2. Age: above 13 Years and below 25 years.

Benefits of the Scheme are as follows:

  1. Boarding & Lodging facilities for 330 days in a year @ of 251/- per day per head.
  2. Sports kit @6000 l- per head per year.
  3. Sports Equipment ( as required for Training ).
  4. Personalized equipments (as Sanctioned )
  5. Competition exposure in India & Abroad.
  6. Medical Facilities
  7. Insurance
  8. They will represent their Own State of Domicile in the National Championship & Other National level Tournaments.

Playing Facilities :

International standard playing facilities are available at SAI, NSWC, Gandhinagar.
Facilities are being created to provide total accessibility for the Para Sports Person in the first Phase. Therefore, presently, we are unable to provide access for regular trainee for wheel chairs and blind or anyone need compulsory assistance/ support; however, we will be able to provide such facilities in near future.
To start with five disciplines maximum 65 seats are available (Boys & Girls) which may vary discipline wise as per the quality of (Para) Athletes available in that particular sports discipline.

Age Limit is within the Age of 13 to 25 years which may also vary in special cases. Final selection will be done in all the five disciplines for induction in COE(Paraf by the selection committee as glven below, after the successful completion of the assessment camp in each sports discipline.
