Scholarships for Students with Disabilities 2017-2018 with a view to provide educational opportunities to students with disabilities, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities has been implementing the following scholarship schemes for their empowerment through education.

List of Scholarships for Students with Disabilities 2017-2018
- Pre-Matric Scholarship ( class IX and X ) – Open till 30-09-2017
- Post-Matric Scholarship ( Class XI to Master’s Degree or Diploma Level ) – Open till 31-10-2017
- Scholarship for Top Class Education ( Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in 240 notified of institutions of excellence ) – Open till 31-10-2017
- National Overseas Scholarships for pursuing ( Master’s degree and Doctorate degree in foreign universities abroad ) – Open till 31-10-2017
- National Fellowship for Persons with Disabilities ( M.Phil/Ph.D )
Schemes : Pre-Matric Scholarship ( class IX and X )
No.of Scholar per year : 46,000
Annual Incoming ceiling(rs.) : 2.00 Lakh
Rate of Scholarships :
Monthly maintenance Allowance of Rs. 350 for day scholars and Rs.600 for hostellers. plus book grant and ad-hoc allowances like transport allowance, reader allowance etc
How to Apply:
The Students are required to submit applications on-line on National Scholarship Portal (www.scholarships.gov.in).
Students with Disability can apply on-line from 1st June 2017.

Post-Matric Scholarship ( Class XI to Master’s Degree or Diploma Level )
No.of Scholar per year : 16,650
Annual Incoming ceiling(rs.) : 2.50 Lakh
Rate of Scholarships :
There are differently rates of Post-Graduate, Graduate, Diploma, Professional courses leading to degree, diploma etc in different disciplines. It ranges from Rs. 650-1200 for hostellers and Rs. 400-550 p.m for day scholars plus tuition fees (Max income ceiling rs. 1.50 Lakh per annum), allowances, book grant etc

Scholarship for Top Class Education
( Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in 240 notified of institutions of excellence )
No.of Scholar per year : 160
Annual Incoming ceiling(rs.) : 6.00 Lakh
Rate of Scholarships :
Monthly maintenance allowances Rs. 3000/- for hostellers, Rs. 1500/- for day scholars, Rs. 2000/- disability allowance, book grant Rs.5000/- per annum, tuition fee upto Rs. 2 lakh per annum
How to Apply:
The Students are required to submit applications on-line on National Scholarship Portal (www.scholarships.gov.in).
Students with Disability can apply on-line from 1st June 2017.

National Overseas Scholarships for pursuing
( Master’s degree and Doctorate degree in foreign universities abroad )
No.of Scholar per year : 20
Annual Incoming ceiling(rs.) : 6.00 Lakh
Rate of Scholarships :
Pound(great Britain) 9,900 per annum for UK and US $15,400 for other countries, plus tuition fees, contingency allowance, cost of air passage etc.
How to Apply:
The proforma for submission of applications is given in the website of this Department i.e www.disabilityaffairs.gov.in. Applications may be submitted in the prescribed proforma to Under Secretary ( Scholarships)., Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.

National Fellowship for Persons with Disabilities ( M.Phil/Ph.D )
No.of Scholar per year : 200
Annual Incoming ceiling(rs.) : No Income Ceiling
Rate of Scholarships :
Monthly Rs. 25,000/- for JRF(first two years) and Rs.28000/- for SRF(3rd year onwards upto complete duration of the course) and contingency grant, escort allowance/reader allowance, HRA etc
How to Apply:
Selection is done by the University Grants Commission. The Candidates may like to apply in the UGC’s website at ugc.ac.in as and when applications are invitedby UGC> No application is required to be sent to Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.

All the above scholarships schemes are applicable to students with disabilities with more than 40% disability and having a disability certificate to this effect issued by a competent medical authority. Disability is as defined in Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016

मैं बिहार से हूँ पहले मैं राजस्थान में रहती थी पर पापा की मृत्यु के बाद मुझे बिहार रहने लगी और पढाई भी पुरी की बिहार से कि हु और मेरा जाति प्रमाण पत्र बिहार का है मेरा भामाशाह काड नहीं है और नहीं बान रह है ।मैं राजस्थान कोटा से बी.एड कर रही हूँ मेरा मुल निवासी कोटा का है आधार काड भी है तो क्या सर मुझे छात्रवृत्ति नहीं मिलेगा ।सर कृपया कर मुझे छात्रवृत्ति देने का कष्ट करे मेरे पापा भी नहीं है
सर जो लोग बहार सेआते है पढ़ने तो उसे तो छात्रवृत्ति मिलती है पर मुझे क्यो नही मिल सकता
