Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) is a condition where the auditory information is not sufficiently processed by the brain, resulting in poor speech comprehension in the listener. APD may co-occur with LD, ADHD, ADD, Autism and other developmental delays. Children with APD have difficulty in:
- Understanding speech in noisy environments
- Following directions
- Discriminating (or telling the difference between) similar-sounding speech sounds
- Often ask for repetition or clarifications
Dimensions Centre for Child Development is organising a seminar on treatment strategies for children with APD. The seminar will be a great learning experience in understanding the current trends in treatment strategies and class room accommodations.
The seminar is open for Speech Language Pathologists/Therapists, Audiologists, Occupational Therapists, Teachers, Doctors, Special Educators, and Parents. Please find the brochure attached.
