ORDER:
In the letter read above the Member Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu has stated that considering the necessity of assisting the differently abled persons to develop their sports skill, it is suggested that the differently abled persons may be given access to sports facilities under the control of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu with the following conditions:
- The sports facilities in the Stadia under the control of Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu may be made available to
- Children below 16 years free of cost and for other differently abled persons, 50% concession may be given.
- An exclusive time slot may be earmarked by Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu for differently abled persons in every facility to be created under Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan (PYKKA).
- The existing sports facilities may be strengthened so as to make it differently abled person friendly.
- An attendant may also be allowed inside the Stadia along with the severely differently abled persons free of cost.
- Competitions may be conducted for various categories of differently abled persons / disabled persons every year.
2. The Member Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu has added that any additional expenditure for implementing these facilities will be borne by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, out of its own funds and there will not be any additional financial commitment to the Government. He has therefore requested the Government to issue suitable order in this regard.
3. After careful examination of the request of Member Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu the Government hereby order to extend various sports facilities under the control of Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu to the differently abled persons with the conditions suggested by the Member Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu at para 1 above without any financial commitment to the State.
