Hope is non-profit, non-commercial voluntary organization dedicated to the welfare of the mentally challenged. The Institute started with 2 students in 1996, today the Institute is serving 150 mentally challenged persons. The boys and girls are accomadated in two separate buildings with a common dining facility.

Adaptive Equipment for Autistic Children

Children with autism have different needs than other, non-disabled children. In some cases, the autistic child may also have physical disabilities, in addition to the expected social, situational and sensory difficulties. Adaptive equipment is anything that can be used to help your autistic child function more effectively. It may include anything from special cups or straws to PECS or items to help stop “stimming” (self-stimulation).

The foundation stone of the AFA National Centre for Advocacy, Research and Training was laid on July 9, 2004 by the Hon. Smt. Sheila Dixit, Chief Minister of NCT Delhi. The dedication of the National Centre took place on 8 September, 2006, with Ms. Sonia Gandhi presiding. This National Centre was sorely needed to allow AFA to expand the scope and extent of its services and provide dedicated services in rehabilitation, research and training.
