International Disability Film Festival at Sathyam Cinemas

This is a great opportunity to watch some amazing films from over 15 countries by, with and about people with disabilities. Entry to the Fest is free, but everyone needs to carry a delegate pass. Passes will be available at the Ability Foundation office (26, 2nd Cross Street, Gandhinagar, Adyar, Chennai 600020) on October 7 and 8(Fri, Sat) from 10 AM to 4 PM, and from 9am on October 10 at the venue. FDDI invites applications for the Non Academic posts

Reservation for SC/ST candidates and Persons with Disabilities may apply as per Government Rules. The SC/ST candidates shall mention their caste and enclose copy of valid caste certificate. Disabled candidates should enclose a copy of disability certificate issued by a Government hospital, duly attested by a Gazetted officer.

Vidya Vrikshah

Volunteers played an active role in the dissemination of the Universal Braille Kit Project (UBK). This is a Kit of 8 devices, some of them, new original designs by Vidya Vrikshah and some, existing standard products. The Kit, accompanied by simple instruction manuals in the local languages, was designed to enable any literate person anywhere in India,

Vidya sudha

Mental retardation has an impact on all areas of life such as social, educational, health and economics. While knowledge of both the causes and ways to prevent mental retardation has grown enormously, comprehensive programs for prevention are not consistently implemented or used. Comprehensive programs must include biomedical advances, public education, socio-economic interventions, preventive health care and elimination of environmental hazards.

Prayatna – Centre for Educational Assessment and Intervention

Prayatna has so far provided assessment & intervention services to over 300 children. Children who have difficulties in acquiring the basic academic skills of reading, spelling & elementary math are likely to benefit from Prayatna’s programs. At Prayatna, children play games and perform activities that enhance specific sub-skills that are required for mastering the 3 “R”s namely, reading, ‘riting and ‘rithmetic.

Andhra Orthotics Centre is a centre for manufactuing all kinds of Surgical Boots, Calipers, Special Appliances, Crutches and Artificial limbs. Headed by Mr.G.Mohan this center has been serving the needs of several individuals facing Orthopaedic challenges.

சென்னை மாவட்ட காதுகேளாதோர் அரசு பள்ளி, போதிய வசதியின்றி வாடகை கட்டடத்தில் இயங்கி வருகிறது. இப்பள்ளிக்கு சொந்த கட்டடம் கட்ட அரசு நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும்.தமிழகத்தில், மாற்றுத் திறனாளி நலன் துறையின் கீழ் 13 காதுகேளாதோருக்கான அரசு பள்ளிகள் இயங்குகின்றன.
