My name is Prashant Ranjan Verma and I am a Indian national presently residing in New Delhi. I am a visually impaired person – about 75% loss of vision. I am a Sagitarrius by birth and I am married.
Articulate speech coupled with a pinch of philosophy and unending optimism defines Mohammed Wasim, a visually challenged English tutor, at the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled. Born with his vision intact, Mr. Wasim developed microphthalmos, a hereditary eye disease, that eventually led to his being visually impaired at the age of seven.
At the age of 9, I suffered with Glaucoma in left eye. Unfortunately surgery did not succeed and I lost my left vision. Subsequently at the age of 13, vision in my right eye also started deteriorating due to retinal detachment. By the time I was in standard 8, I lost vision in both eyes.
