A lot of children are aware of location and what is expected of them there. For e.g. they might really hold it together at school, where they know their freedom is limited and may not manifest many of their sensory integration problems at school. They will, however, fall apart when they get home. They know they’re in a safe environment and the impact and stress of their day may come out.
The child may be constantly on the move or may be slow to activate and fatigue easily. Again, some children may fluctuate from one extreme to the other.
Dyslexia is “reading disabilities” and people suffering from dyslexia face problems in reading, writing and spelling words or text. Being a private tutor, I have handled tutoring classes for 5 Dyslexia students. And proud to say all 5 of them are doing well now. Since I get tutoring opportunities for Dyslexia students, I made a decision to know more about the disease, and steps to cure them. I have started to research on this and found out that 95% of dyslexia is curable when it is noted earlier and if proper treatment is given.
A large number of rural based disabled children hailing from the poor socio-economic background are deprived of opportunities for medical & other rehabilitation services. The Council through its well-knit District level Councils & network of other NGO’s receive such children at the Chennai based residential Child Care Center. They are provided with services like surgeries, physiotherapy, orthotics aids, counseling, special school and sponsorship assistance.
The aim of the scheme is to work with children 0-6 years with developmental disabilities, to make them ready for mainstream and special schools. This is an early intervention programme.Awareness generation amongst parents of persons with disabilities, its family members & related Govt. Officials / Teachers.
The Ministry is presently implementing the ‘National Scholarship Scheme for Persons with Disabilities’ from the ‘National Fund for People with Disabilities’. However, for students with Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation, Multiple Disabilities, and Profound or Severe Hearing Impairment, the minimum education qualification is class-VIII pass and scholarships are awarded to them for pursuing general, technical, vocational or professional courses.
என்ஜினீயரிங், மருத்துவம் மற்றும் பட்டமேற்படிப்பு பயிலும் மாற்றுத்திறனாளி மாணவர்கள் கல்வி உதவித் தொகைக்கு விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம் என்று அரசு அறிவித்துள்ளது.
அரசு நேற்று வெளியிட்ட செய்திக்குறிப்பில் கூறியிருப்பதாவது:-
தேசிய அளவில் மாற்றுத் திறனாளி மாணவ, மாணவியர்களுக்கான கல்வி உதவித் தொகை “இந்திய அரசின் தேசிய உடல் ஊனமுற்றோருக்கான நிதி மற்றும் மேம்பாட்டுக் கழகத்தால்” 2011- 2012-ம் நிதியாண்டில் தகுதியுள்ள 1000 மாற்றுத்திறனாளி மாணவ, மாணவியர்களுக்கு கல்வி உதவித் தொகை வழங்கப்படுகிறது.
இதற்காக, தமிழ்நாட்டில் சென்னையில் உள்ள மாநில தலைமை கூட்டுறவு வங்கி வழிநடத்தும் அமைப்பாக செயல்படுகிறது. பொறியியல், மருத்துவம் மற்றும் பட்ட மேற்படிப்பு பயிலும் தகுதியுள்ள மாற்றுத் திறனாளி மாணவ, மாணவிகள் கல்வி உதவித் தொகையை பெற விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம்.
மருத்துவம் மற்றும் பொறியியல் பட்டப் படிப்புக்கு மாதம் ஒன்றுக்கு பராமரிப்பு உதவித் தொகை ரூ. 2 ஆயிரத்து 500ம், புத்தகம் மற்றும் இதர கல்வி உபகரணங்கள் வாங்குவதற்கு ஆண்டுக்கு ரூ. 6 ஆயிரமும் வழங்கப்படுகிறது.
முதுகலை மருத்துவம், பொறியியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்ப பட்ட மேற்படிப்புக்கு மாதம் ஒன்றுக்கு பராமரிப்பு உதவித் தொகை ரூ. 3 ஆயிரமும், புத்தகங்கள் மற்றும் இதர கல்வி உபகரணங்கள் வாங்குவதற்கு ஆண்டுக்கு ரூ.10 ஆயிரமும் வழங்கப்படுகிறது.

This is a special school for the visually impaired, founded in e year 1980, August 18th, by the Brothers of the Sacred Hearth of Jesus. Ref. Br. A. Thomas SHJ was the founder of the Institution. It is a Government recognized school for the Blind. Ref. I. Mathalai Muthu SHJ is the present Director and Correspondent.
One of the most memorable experiences from my visit was a speech given by a visually impaired alumnus of IELC. He had been invited as a guest speaker to inspire and encourage the students towards success.
