சென்னை மாவட்ட காதுகேளாதோர் அரசு பள்ளி, போதிய வசதியின்றி வாடகை கட்டடத்தில் இயங்கி வருகிறது. இப்பள்ளிக்கு சொந்த கட்டடம் கட்ட அரசு நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும்.தமிழகத்தில், மாற்றுத் திறனாளி நலன் துறையின் கீழ் 13 காதுகேளாதோருக்கான அரசு பள்ளிகள் இயங்குகின்றன.

Jayshree says she is optimistic about the proposed bill providing a “level playing field” to the differently-abled. “The Disabled Persons Act, 1996, could not satisfy the aspirations of the disabled and many of its recommendations were not implemented. Once the bill comes into effect, the disabled will be able to ask for their rights for an accessible environment. We are asking for equal opportunities, access to education, employment, recreation and transportation; for our rightful space in society,” says Jayshree.
