ரயிலில் பயணம் செய்ய இ-டிக்கெட் எடுக்கும் மாற்றுத் திறனாளிகளுக்கான புதிய வசதியினை இந்திய ரயில்வே அறிவித்துள்ளது. இதன் மூலம் மாற்றுத் திறனாளிகள், மனநலம் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களுக்கு ரயிலில் பயணம் செய்ய புகைப்படத்துடன் கூடிய தனி அடையாள அட்டை வழங்கப்பட இருக்கிறது.

To create a National Database for Persons with Disability and issue a Universal Disability ID/Card to every Persons with disability is essential in order to cover each and every persons with disabilities and encourage transparency, efficiency and ease of delivering the government benefits to the persons with disability.

This identity card will be valid across the country and will help facilitate disabled people to avail benefits under various government schemes according to the level of disability which will be clearly mentioned in the card.
National Disability Database & Unique Disability ID creation
The smart card would also have data like disability percentage, personal details, identity, employment details, education details and bank account number of the person.
New ID cards for persons with disabilities
NIC will prepare a centralised database to help identify PwDs by collating data from the census and state governments. They will also design the unique ID and recommend its implementation mechanism

Under the National Programme for Rehabilitation of Persons with disabilities, the Office of the Special Commissioner for the Disabled, Chennai has established a State Resource cum Training Centre at K.K. Nagar.
