Job fests for the differently abled are all the rage amongst corporations out to act on their corporate social responsibility mandates. Few applicants benefit from these drives, and many others find themselves short sold. Jobs offered to them at these events that are commensurate with their educational qualifications.
Invitation of applications for the national scholarship for persons with disabilities (2010-11). . Applications (in English or Hindi) are invited latest by 30th September, 2010 in the prescribed proforma from the persons with disabilities to award the National Scholarships for the year 2010-11 for pursuing technical and professional courses from recognized institutions.
Awards in this category will be given to people who work for the cause of accessibility and Universal Design in any of the areas such as built environment, transport infrastructure, service provision, information and communication technology (ICT), universally designed consumer products, mobility & independent living aids, or assistive technology.
The last date for sending the nominations is 30th September, 2010. The eve of World Disability Day to encourage individuals and organisations who have been doing exemplary work towards promoting employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
