The CBR service is one of the main services we provided from the very big of our Rehabilitation service in Mathuranthagam and Archarapakkam Blocks. Services include – Home based training, Referral services, education and training people to take measures to prevent handicap occurrence and formation of SHG’s of PWD.

Deepam means ‘Light’. Light to life. We started Deepam in 2002 with the intention based on throwing away the ‘poverty’ and ‘Ignorance’ from the human The founder had a vision to feed the hunger-poorest of the poor and imparting ‘value based education’ to the society in order to have true, honest, healthy, wealthy and wise society. The founder formed a group of social minded youngsters as volunteers to serve the society. Within few years a big volunteer group has been formed and now Deepam Trust has been doing wonderful service to its part. Deepam was registered in 2007 as a public trust.being. Ignorance leads to disease, tension, worries….death. Poverty leads to unhealthy society.

Vidyalaya launched its economic-oriented rehabilitation services for the disabled involving banks, industries, the employment exchange, etc. Vidyalaya is actively collaborating with the Central and State Governments in implementing number of projects of national importance to provide comprehensive services to the disabled. In general, the institute is offering need based services in the area of special education and rehabilitation.

Residential care is provided to 120 children in a homely atmosphere. The children are selected based on their family background, socio-economic condition of the families and other factors, which are essential to place a mentally challenged child in a residential care center.

Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities

The main objectives of the National Trust are to enable and empower persons with disabilities to live as independently and as fully as possible, to extend support to registered organisations providing need based services, and to evolve procedure for appointment of legal guardians for persons with disabilities requiring such protection. The Government of India has provided Rs.100 crores toward the corpus of the Trust. The income generated from the corpus is utilized to implement its programmes.
