Arivalayam – school for deaf

Arivalayam – is a school with a difference. It all began when the plight of a three year old child in a pre-primary school in BHEL Township came to the notice of the Management of the giant Public Sector Organisation Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited. The child was always seen isolated from the group and made no attempt to join in the fun and frolic of the other children. On further probing it was found that there were a number of such children in and around Township who required special education. The result was the establishment of Arivalayam in 1977 – A School for the Mentally Challenged children by the management of BHEL with technical support from CBM – Christophel Blinden Mission of Germany.

Priyaa Speech and Hearing Centre

Priyaa Speech and Hearing Centre (PSHC) has been established with a primary goal of addressing the developmental and clinical needs of children with speech and hearing disorders, since 2002. We treat problems in the areas of articulation, stuttering, oral-motor, speech & voice disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders.

Infant Jesus Society For Education And Training For Hearing Impaired

Infant Jesus Society for Education and Training for Hearing Impaired was started with seven students in the year 1997. The society is run by the Social Service Wing of Carmelite Sisters.

Manasa – School for the special children

Manasa means Deep Hearted Love and springs. Manasa school for the special children is a non-profitable organization created to look after the mentally challenged, spastic cerebral palasy, multiple disabilities and the other disadvantaged child in the age group of 2 to 40 years.

Hope is non-profit, non-commercial voluntary organization dedicated to the welfare of the mentally challenged. The Institute started with 2 students in 1996, today the Institute is serving 150 mentally challenged persons. The boys and girls are accomadated in two separate buildings with a common dining facility.

Samrita Trust – Education for visually impaired

The Trust is inspired by Louis Braille, inventor of Braille, and indomitable spirit of Helen Keller.
