Vocational training and job training to the intellectually disabled is placed as the top priority at Deepam. At 16 years of age the vocational skills of each child are determined according to the student’s interest, ability and skills level.
The main object of “SAMARPANA” is to serve the society in general and the deprived sections of the society like SPASTIC and MENTALLY RETARDED, disabled, old aged, deserted women, orphans, destitute’s etc., in particular and to strive for the upliftment of the society, irrespective of caste, creed and religion.

கவுதமாலாவில் நடக்கும் உலக பாட்மின்டன் போட்டிக்கு தேர்வாகியும், கட்டணம் செலுத்த முடியாத நிலையில் உள்ளார். இதுவரை நான்கு சர்வதேச போட்டிகளிலும், 20 தேசிய, 30 மாநில போட்டிகளில் தங்கம், வெள்ளி, வெண்கல பதக்கங்களை வென்றுள்ளார். நவ., 19 முதல் 27 வரை, கவுதமாலாவில் நடக்க உள்ள பாட்மின்டன் சாம்பியன்ஷிப் போட்டியில் பங்கேற்க, விமான கட்டணம், விசா, தங்குமிடத்திற்கு ரூ.ஒரு லட்சத்து 70 ஆயிரத்து 125 கட்ட வேண்டியுள்ளது.
சக்கர நாற்காலியில் சுழன்றபடி அந்த வளைக்கரம் அனாயசமாக வாளை வீச, பார்க்கும் நமக்கோ பிரமிப்பு. வாளின் வேகம் காற்றைக் கிழித்து கொண்டு பாய்ந்தது. வளைக்கரம் வாள் வீசுவது புதிதா என்ன? இல்லை. ஆனால் இந்த வளைக்கரத்துக்குச் சொந்தமான இந்திரா- மாற்றுத் திறனாளி என்பதுதான் புதிது. இவர் தேசிய, சர்வதேச அளவில் போட்டிகளில் பங்கேற்று பதக்கங்களைப் பெற்றுள்ளார்.
The aim of the scheme is to work with children 0-6 years with developmental disabilities, to make them ready for mainstream and special schools. This is an early intervention programme.Awareness generation amongst parents of persons with disabilities, its family members & related Govt. Officials / Teachers.
To provide permanent care for abandoned and destitute persons with disabilities, protection to persons whose family support is gradually diminishing, family membersare willingtopay forgood quality services , homes and independent living situations and create opportunities.
Children with various kinds of mental challenges like Mental retardation, Cerebral palsy, Downs syndrome and Autism come in for daily rehabilitative programme.
The Anbalaya Special School was established on 15th September, 2003. Totally 42 mentally retarded children belongs to very poor public are enrolled. Of them 20 are female and 22 are male.
