The Karnataka Government has provided 3% reservation in A and B Post and 5% reservation in C and ‘D’ category of posts in all Government recruitments. The Karnataka Government has also identified different kinds of jobs, which can be suitable for persons with disability.
Scholarship for Physically challenged/Differently-abled Scholarship with full tuition fee waivered is offered to selected students who are physically challenged /differently abled.
The Government of Karnataka has established 8 Res. Special Schools for children with visual or hearing impairment. Out of 8 Res. Special Schools 4 schools are for children with visually impaired and 4 schools are for children with hearing impairment.
In the recent past, the Government have received a number of representations from persons with disability, highlighting the problem being faced by them due to nonavailability of invalid carriages in the market as well the policy of banning alteration in motor vehicles under Section 52 of the motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
5% relaxation will be given from the present 60% marks for passing the Teacher Eligibility Test. She further added that the candidates belonging to Differently abled persons, Scheduled Caste, Schedule Tribes, Backward Classes, Backward Classes(Muslim), Most Backward Classes and De-notified Communities
Exemption from payment of VAT on Battery operated motorised retrofitted scooter for the use of differently abled persons
Guidelines for providing certain facilities in respect of persons with disabilities who are already employed in Government for efficient performance of their duties
A reservation quota of two sleeper class berths has been earmarked in all trains running on non-suburban sections for handicapped persons performing their journey on handicapped concessional ticket. The person accompanying the handicapped person as escort is also allotted the berth out of this quota.

Maintenance Allowance is given at the rate of Rs. 1,000/- per month to leprosy affected persons. The inmates accommodated in the Government Rehabilitation Homes are also eligible to receive this allowance
