Do captions alone make a streaming platform accessible?
No. Captions are essential, but the platform also needs accessible navigation, player controls, screen reader support, keyboard and remote operation, audio description, readable UI, and accessible subscription journeys.
Which platforms should be tested?
At minimum, test web, iOS, Android, and every active Smart TV platform. OTT products often fail differently on each surface because the accessibility APIs, remotes, player controls, and focus models differ.
