Before you book an audit
Shopify accessibility testing: your questions answered.
Understand testing coverage, theme changes, third-party apps, timelines and reporting before choosing your service.
Do you test every product URL?
We scope audits around shared templates, components and representative shopping journeys. Different product behaviours, content patterns, languages and app integrations are included where agreed. Product content updates are priced separately by volume and complexity.
What does template verification mean?
We document the tested template version, configurations, WCAG 2.2 AA findings and re-audit results. Verification applies to that assessed scope; it is not a Shopify certification or a guarantee covering every page generated from the theme.
Can agencies and app vendors work with Enabled.in?
Yes. Our Accessibility Partner service offers white-label or dedicated testing, release reviews, remediation verification and VPAT-based ACR reporting for an agreed app, theme or client project.
What is Shopify accessibility?
Shopify accessibility means making the shopping experience usable by people with disabilities. This includes finding products, understanding information, selecting options and completing purchases with tools such as a keyboard, screen reader or magnification.
Do you support platforms other than Shopify?
Enabled.in also offers eCommerce accessibility reviews for other platforms, including WooCommerce. Share your platform, customisations and integrations so we can confirm the testing and remediation scope.
What does a Shopify accessibility audit cover?
We review an agreed sample of templates and shopping journeys, including navigation, search, product selection, cart interactions and available checkout steps. The report records barriers, their impact and practical recommendations for your team.
Can you work with our existing Shopify theme?
Yes. The project starts with your current theme and customisations. We agree which changes our team will implement and which need your developer or an app provider, then test changes in a duplicate theme before launch.
Do you review Shopify Plus and third-party apps?
We can include Shopify Plus storefronts and customer-facing app interactions in the review. Where a component is controlled by Shopify or an app vendor, we document the issue and help your team coordinate the next step. The scope of fixes depends on the access and controls available.
Can an automated scan replace manual testing?
No. Automated checks can identify some issues, but keyboard interaction, screen reader announcements and complete shopping tasks also need manual review. Our approach combines both.
How long does remediation take, and what does it cost?
Timing and cost depend on the number of templates, theme customisations, apps and issues in scope. Share your store URL and priorities so we can propose a scope, estimate and delivery plan.
Does an audit guarantee accessibility compliance?
An audit describes the agreed scope at a point in time. Issues need to be addressed and retested, and new content or theme updates need ongoing checks. We agree a WCAG testing target with you and report the findings against that target.
Can we keep updating our store during the project?
We agree a workflow with your team so routine store operations can continue. Theme edits and app changes should be coordinated to avoid overwriting fixes or introducing untested changes.
Will remediation affect store performance or functionality?
Theme changes can affect existing interactions. We coordinate changes in a duplicate theme and agree regression checks for affected shopping tasks before release. Tell us about your performance targets and critical integrations when scoping the project.
What reporting and support can we include?
The proposal can include a findings report, remediation guidance, retest results and scheduled follow-up reviews. Agree reporting frequency, support channels and response expectations with us before the project starts.
